I once joined a comm with accidentally the same first and last name as someone already in the comm but they were fairly common names but luckily someone was nice enough to reach out to me before it really seemed like I was straight up cloning someone I had no idea actually existed.

For anyone out there on the fence about cutting ties with toxic slps, do it! I purged all the people I was terrified of upsetting OOC because they might target me IC and wreck my other lines. Only one person pushed back hard and left rude messages but nothing like I was afraid of happened and I feel so much lighter.

Same for cutting ties with toxic friendships in RP! I’m in the middle of cutting off someone I’ve been close to for years that until I removed myself from the situation, didn’t realize just how truly horrible and draining they were and I already feel better. Glad you’re able to do the same, anon!

To the anon wanting more people to comment on their narratives, do you by chance comment on other people's? I find that when I commented people on their narratives they often would comment back on mine, I think some people when they aren't involved with your character will read them and not say anything because they don't want to be weird.

I think RP being bleaker than ever these days has contributed to the increase of characters and storylines getting copied. People see a successful character or storyline and they think they can replicate that success by taking on the same concept, personality, job, etc. or by going for the same pairing no matter how unconventional it is. People are so desperate for something to work out but there's no self-awareness for the actual problem.

Once I found out someone has lied or betrayed me I can't trust them again even if they genuinely try to be a better person. I know it's harsh but once I'm really hurt I just move on because it will never be the same, I will always have this doubt and worry that they're lying or being shady again. This goes for friendships, relationships, and sls. And it makes me hate myself because I want to trust and everything to go back to the way it was.

My brother has been a single dad for my nephew's whole life, but he's been dating a woman and decided to introduce her to our family and his son. At first I was happy for him, but as I've gotten to know her I don't think she's the right person for him or for my nephew. There's too many examples to list but if you can proceed with giving me the benefit of the doubt that I'm right, how would you move forward in this situation? Everybody in our family says that he's lonely and wants his son to have a mother figure and that's why he's settling for someone awful, but he's done such a great job of raising him and this woman is already neglecting him. She treats him like an afterthought, pushes things he doesn't want on him, and this seems petty but she doesn't even refer to him by his name, she just calls him "the kidlet" even after he's asked her not to. I know barging into people's relationships never goes well, and if it was just about my brother I wouldn't, but I feel like I need to advocate for my nephew. Any advice?

Don’t make it about her, make it about your nephew and how he’s being treated. Tell your brother how rhesus things could impact him in the future, how it could impact his development and having a mother figure isn’t worth the potential damage.
