Is pming a character ooc about something that happened ic as a way to resolve it considered crossing the ic and ooc line?

Depends on how you do it. "Hey, I'm not enjoying this part of our sl, can we brainstorm a way to move it in a new direction that works for us both?" is normal and not blurry. "Dnw this plot, I'm erasing it now" is rude and godmodding.

The issue is that something a character said ic to a friend in a custom was spread around ooc somehow through characters tbeu don't know and this character heard about it ooc and decided to contact the original character who said it (is this getting confusing?) via PM to tell them they found out ooc and it caused a big mess. It feels weird and accusatory. Like who even are you?

I would comment their OOC instead because people don't always see PMs, however I would really think about this first because I think a lot of situations just become awkward when you take them OOC.

Depends on how much you communicated ooc previously and how they approach it, I think. I wouldn't mind agreeing on sketching out a rough plan towards getting two characters to talk again, for example. But when someone only speaks up because they fucked a good thing up ic just to be messy and then don't like the actual consequences of their actions? Deal with it, baby.

It's not me, it happened to my friend and she wants to go to the mods and/or leave the community and seems really weirded out by it all. I'm trying to let her know if it's a normal thing and to relax or if some line crossing did happen. It's never happened to me and I would never do that.

I think she's just being accused of saying whatever ic, she didn't tell anyone ooc and that's why she's so upset about the pms. It's so weird. I am going to tell her to report this to the mods.
