+1 or try making or acknowledging that your own character is a villain. Maybe they don't mean to be but it could be a narrative from the perspective of NPCs in their lives who were brushed aside or misused. No character is perfect and writing them as the best person ever that people would be foolish to look over isn't very compelling.

IA. This was so long ago but one of my favorite narratives I've read in a comm was a bunch of instances of lies their character had told and it was so unique and enjoyable.

Not that anon but I wrote a narrative like this once and TY if it was mine but even if it wasn't, I appreciate that you enjoyed it anyway because I agree that seeing more narratives about people's characters being less than perfect would be great.
