Sometimes I think about this line I had at a creature comm where most writers were women or gay men and everyone got so weird about het lines like you were a pariah for playing a woman and wanting a het line. I usually play men but I wrote a woman character because I had this idea I loved, and she ended up becoming friends with and then dating this guy (HE asked HER out and pursued it) who was deeply in the closet and in love with at least 2 other men in the comm and I loved it because I hadn't revealed publically yet that my girl was gay as fuck and had a huge crush on her other co-worker who was a woman, and was in the closet also to please her family but I had dropped hints. (This was a comm where we did strikethrough private thoughts so it was out there) And I really wanted a beard line between them where they thought about having a kid with each other and had affairs on the side, but the person playing the guy was so fucking obsessed with their slash lines and gay male sex and angst that they couldn't even develop what could have been a really cool and interesting line between these two people struggling with their identity all because it was a "het" line. And the writer was a queer woman, so it was also a double slap in the face that they all hated RPing with and AS women so much.
